PokerStars Championship will see its inaugural event in Asia start at the end of March. The event is to start at the City of Dreams in Macau on March 30th and will run for a total of 11 days until April 9th.
This is the first-ever global Championship event sponsored by PokerStars that is to be held in the lavishest entertainment venue in Macau – the City of Dreams, which has previously been home to the widely-popular Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) events.
The 11-day Championship tournament will bring together hundreds of players, offering a variety of events offering different buy-ins and prizes. The tournament is also expected to be attended by some of the biggest names in the contemporary poker world, including some of the members of Team PokerStars Pro – Andre Akkari, Celina Lin, Felipe “Mojave” Ramos, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, etc.
The City of Dreams in Macau will allow players who are over 21 years old to join the tournament. Some players, including residents of the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, as well as a number of Asian and European countries, would not be required to have a visa for visits lasting less than 30 days.
As mentioned above, a variety of events will be included in the PokerStars Championship in Macau from March 30th to April 9th. Apart from the large number of qualifiers and regular events, there will be a number of events that would undoubtedly provoke great interest in players who consider joining the PokerStars Championship Macau.
The PokerStars National Championship is considered as one of the key events to the tournament, which definitely deserve to be paid attention at. It is to kick off on March 30th and will end on April 3rd. The National Championship features a buy-in of HK$8,800 and a massive guaranteed prize pool estimated to HK$2,000,000.
Another event that is expected to attract a lot of entries is the PokerStars Cup, which is scheduled to start on March 31st. The event is to end on April 3rd. The PokerStars Cup offers a buy-in of HK$3,000 and a chip start of 15,000 to start with.
The beginning of April will see another very attractive event to kick off – the PokerStars Championship Super High Roller – Shot Clock event. The latter is to be held for three days, from April 1st to April 3rd, 2017. It will allow players to enter for the prize of HK$400,000. On the next day – April 2nd, PokerStars Asia Open is scheduled to start. The event will be live for two days only, but it features a massive guaranteed prize pool of HK$1,000,000 and a buy-in of HK$5,000.
Undoubtedly, one of the most-expected events within the inaugural PokerStars Championship Macau tournament series will be the Main Event, which is to start on April 3rd. The seven-day event that is to be held until April 9th would require entrants to pay a buy-in of HK$42,400.
There will be a number of other attractive events within the Championship, including: the one-day No Limit Hold’em – Shot Clock event on April 4th, the PokerStars Championship PLO High Roller starting on April 5th and PokerStars Championship High Roller that is to take place between April 7th and April 9th.
Last but not least, players will be given the chance to join the PokerStars Open – a three day event which is scheduled to take place from April 7th to April 9th, for a buy-in amounting to HK$2,200.
